My art is here to find that familiarity. To explore the similarities… the common ground found when we release our walls and allow our whole self to be seen. How many of us are hiding in plain sight, safe in our facade of calculated transparency? 

Over the years my creativity has transitioned through many themes. These contemporary portraits serve to me as not just an exploration of the human condition but as a way for me to rediscover myself. For decades I avoided human subjects in my artistic endeavors, only to realize that I was preventing connection in life beyond the canvas. I’m learning to shed this hesitation, this hiding - discarding the layers that became my binding. The more I reconnect with myself, the more I understand of others. The more I strive to learn from others, the more I learn of myself.
